  • October 2015–June 2019: Jiayi Li, IPANEMA & GEMaC (Versailles, France)
    Project: Développements méthodologiques en imagerie et nouvelle appréhension physico-chimique de textiles archéologiques en lin de l’Orient ancien (3ème et 2ème av. J.-C.).
  • February–May 2016: Maurizio Sansonetti, research internship abroad in the framework of his PhD in Palaeontolgy at Universita di Bologna (Italy).
    Project: Deciphering the relation between trace elements concentration and UV-induced fluorescence: insights from micro-X-ray fluorescence mapping and absorption spectroscopy at Ca K-edge.Bologna (Italy).
    Maurizio sadly passed away on September 23, 2018, before he could finish his thesis.

M.Sc. students

  • May–August 2017: Hervé de Grandsaignes D’hauterives, student internship, 1st year M.Sc in Physics and Applications at Université Paris Sud (Orsay, France).
    Project: Étude 3D de fossiles et restes archéologiques par micro-tomographie X synchrotron.
    Hervé obtained a M.Sc. degree in Grands Instruments / Large scale facilities at Universtié Paris-Saclay (France) in 2019.
  • February–September 2017: Rafaella Georgiou, research internship, 2nd year M.Sc in Science for Conservation – Restoration of Cultural Heritage at Universita di Bologna (Italy).
    Project: Development of ToF-SIMS and FTIR imaging to identify organic compounds in exceptionally-preserved fossils.
    Rafaella is now PhD student in Physics at IPANEMA (Gif-sur-Yvette, France).
  • March–August 2015: Melanie Adams, research internship, 1st year M.Sc in Physics at École Polytechnique (Palaiseau, France).
    Project: Chemical environment and mechanism of incorporation of rare earth elements in fossil apatites via ICP-MS quantifications and X-ray microscopy.
    After obtaining her M.Sc. degree in Materials Science and Engineering at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland), Melanie is now a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at UC Santa Barbara (CA, USA).

Bachelor students

  • July–August 2013: Eva Du Tien Hat, volunteer internship, 2nd year Bachelor in Biology at Université Pierre et Marie Curie Paris-6 (Paris, France).
    Project: Étude anatomique et morphométrique des conchostracés fossiles du gisement dévonien supérieur de Strud, Belgique.
    Eva obtained a M.Sc. degree in Ecology, Biodiversity and Evolution from Université Pierre et Marie Curie Paris-6 in 2017.
  • June–September 2012: Nathalie Barbier, research internship, L3 (3rd year bachelor) Magistère de physique fondamentale de la Faculté d’Orsay (France), Université Paris Sud.
    Project: Caractérisation de composés organiques préservés dans les fossiles par micro-spectroscopie infrarouge.
    Nathalie obtained a PhD degree in Physics from the Institut d’Optique Graduate School (Palaiseau, France) in 2017.
